SWE pilot for Real Time oceanography data launched

Sensor Web Enablement (SWE) can be applied for real time monitoring systems, allowing direct standardised access to selected data types from selected monitoring instruments (sensors). The OGC SWE standards aim to support operators, researchers and data owners in streaming and publishing marine observation data collected with sensors at platforms.
EMODnet Ingestion and EMODnet Physics have set-up an SWE pilot with an EMODnet Real Time Oceanographic Data Client giving discovery and access to the data streams from a number of Sensor Observation Service (SOS) instances. Next to the Demonstrator there is also a Guidance manual how the RT Data Client works and how you can adopt SWE.
