Title of datasetFloating Microplastics
Narrative summary of datasetData on floating microplastics abundances (items/km2), types,in the Slovenian waters of the Gulf of Trieste. Data produced in 2014-15 within the framework of the DeFishGear project str/00010, IPA-Adriatic, Cross Border Cooperation 2007-2013.
Summary of processing methodologyMicroplastics were collected using seasurface manta-net tows. Net mesh size 330 ┬Ám. The MSFD protocol/recommendations were followed. Microplastic particles were sorted under a stereomicroscope counted and categorized in size classes and types (fragments, filaments, films).
