Data quality processing information20 L seawater samples are collected in different water masses by the rosette sampler. Samples are stored in plastic containers and pH is adjusted to 1.5 - 2 by adding 50 mL of concentrated HNO3. 137Cs is pre-concentrated onboard by the AMP (Ammonium molibdophospate) method: the sample is transferred to open plastic containers. A known amount of 134Cs is added as yield determinant. pH is controlled and, if necessary, adjusted to 1.5 with HNO3. The sample is stirred for 15 min. 5 g of AMP are added and the sample is stirred again for 3 hours. The AMP is allowed to settle for at least 3 hours. The supernatant is removed and the AMP collected in PVC bottles. Samples are then gamma counted. Quality checks are periodically performed on Standard Reference Materials. Dataset variables decoding: CS7W: 137Cs activity (water) ECSW: 137Cs activity error (water)
